HEERF I

HEERF I – CARES Act

CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act)
The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund I (HEERF I) is authorized by the CARES Act (also known as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act).

HEERF I provides financial support to institutions of higher education. A portion of each institution’s allocation should be awarded to students in the form of emergency financial aid grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 crisis. Information regarding HEERF I can be found below.

Introduction

On March 27, 2020, the Government of the United States of America approved the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES). This economic stimulus has contemplated different sectors including educational institutions. Mech-Tech College has followed, and will follow, the instructions and guidance provided by the CARES Act, the US Department of Education, Federal Student Aid, and the Certification and Agreement completed by the University. That guide gives institutions the discretion to develop their own systems and processes for determining how to allocate these funds, subject to certain limitations on student eligibility and spending eligibility.

At Mech-Tech Institute, we have worked hard to ensure that you successfully achieve your academic goals and that your studies are not interrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We continue to offer our service to our entire student community. You can contact us by phone or email at [email protected].
